Today's fortune: You are contemplating some action which will bring credit upon you.
Eight years ago today, in a church outside Kansas City, Jamie and I took each other's hands and in front of our families and friends we became husband and wife.
It hardly seems possible that eight years have passed since that day. Sometimes it feels like we have been married for but a moment, and simultaneously it's as though Jamie and I have been one soul for all of eternity. Both are true, I suppose.
A little over nine years ago, when I contemplated the action of asking Jamie to become my wife, I couldn't even begin to imagine how much credit would be brought upon me: having a wife as perfect as Jamie is the most beautiful gift in the world. I hope I've been as much of a gift to her.
I've written before that this project at times feels like a love note to Jamie, and that's because my life is a love note to her. Everything I do is either for Jamie, because of her or with her in mind, so it's only natural this project would revolve around her.
Now Jamie and I are preparing to go to dinner, contemplating restaurant choices and evening plans. Spending time together this evening will bring us even more credit, until are hearts feel like they're about to burst open.
